Free Personality Test

The Internet is packed with some great Free tools that can be used to really breathe life and personality into your CV / Resume.

As a recruiter I see a growing number of my clients using the various psychometric / personality tests as part of the interview process.

And as the science behind these assessments continues to evolve, so does the success and credibility of this type of assessment approach.

I professionally have seen the benefits of these assessments in terms of:

• How they will help you build a fantastic CV
• Build a winning honest question answering interview strategy
• How they can help you avoid jobs you will hate!
• Prepare you for when you take these tests at interview, you'll know what they will uncover about you!

And personally the MAPP test (motivational appraisal of personal performance) test, turned on my lights to my personal motivational drivers and blockers.

This piece of information for me was almost life changing in it's impact. Helping me to recognise and cater for my personal strengths and weaknesses.

My recommendation would be to do both the Peoplemaps free personality and MAPP tests which will take you about 45 minutes in total. With both these sites giving you free password access, you can do these tests in small bites, saving your work for later, if you don't have time to do them in one go.

Your very worst outcome will be some beautifully professionally worded descriptive phrases, which I guarantee will improve your resume / CV.

Another side effect is that as people we sometimes run ourselfs down a bit. These reports serve to remind us about our stregnths in a very professional and uplifting way.

Jenny a daughter of a friend, was feeling a little low and in a bit of a slump, the MAPP test showed that the problem was not with her, rather her role had changed over time to include many more administerative tasks which simply did not motivate her. And were causing a perpetual downward spiral.

However the Mapp test showed how much Jenny enjoyed customer service and supporting the companies engineering staff, tasks which are also more valuable to her company. So by openly discussing this with her boss Jenny has redesigned her job, moving the admin to more junior staff, allowing Jenny to do what she loves best.
